Chinese Democratic Education Foundation has also established a Special Award to those people for their long-term dedications and supports to CDEF’s works. This year, CDEF has decided to give this award to the sculptor, Mr. Thomas Marsh. Because of the persistent endeavor made by Mr. Marsh through these years, the Goddess of Democracy, which has firstly appeared during the Tiananmen Massacre in 1989, but has soon been demolished by the Communist party’s troops, could be erected again in the Chinatown of San Francisco. This award would like to pay tribute to Mr. Marsh.
